Commercial properties only — no private homes
Safety Shine Maintenance: Nevada Commercial Floor Care
Commercial strip and wax, machine scrubbing, buffing, and burnishing for commercial properties throughout Nevada. Work can often be scheduled after hours or completed in phases to help limit disruption to the facility.
Commercial floor care throughout Nevada
Safety Shine Maintenance provides commercial floor-care services throughout Nevada, including strip and wax, machine scrubbing, buffing, burnishing, and recurring maintenance programs. Availability is subject to project size, location, scheduling, and crew availability.
We work on commercial and professionally managed properties: retail centers, offices, schools, medical and dental facilities, warehouses, manufacturing plants, restaurants, grocery stores, dealerships, hotels, fitness centers, churches, and managed common areas. Every project starts with identifying the flooring material and the condition of the existing finish, because that is what determines which service is actually appropriate.
We do not service private homes. Requests for residential floor care, individual apartments, or private housekeeping cannot be quoted or scheduled. Our services are for commercial properties, managed facilities, construction projects, and professionally managed common areas.
Our four commercial floor-care services
-
Commercial strip and wax
Full removal of worn floor finish, followed by preparation and application of new commercial floor finish on VCT and compatible resilient flooring.
-
Commercial machine scrubbing
Deep mechanical cleaning that lifts embedded soil and residue from large commercial floor areas, with scrub-and-recoat evaluation where a coating is present.
-
Buffing and burnishing
Mechanical polishing that restores gloss and reduces visible traffic marks between full refinishing cycles.
-
Floor maintenance programs
Recurring service schedules that combine scrubbing, polishing, recoating, and refinishing so floors are maintained on a plan rather than in response to complaints.
How a commercial floor-care project starts
Three steps, before any work is scheduled.
-
Send the property details
Property type, flooring, square footage, condition and photographs.
-
Confirm the appropriate scope
Evaluate whether the floor needs scrubbing, recoating, refinishing, buffing or burnishing.
-
Coordinate the service window
Confirm availability, access, phasing and scheduling for the specific property.
Which floors we work on
Services and products are selected according to the floor material, the existing coating, the condition of the floor, and the manufacturer's guidance. Not every commercial floor should be waxed, and we confirm what a floor actually needs before recommending anything.
- Vinyl composition tile, the most common commercial floor we refinish
- Compatible resilient flooring, including sheet vinyl where suitable
- Luxury vinyl tile, only where manufacturer-approved methods are used
- Sealed concrete, maintained by machine scrubbing rather than floor finish
- Ceramic and porcelain tile, cleaned mechanically with attention to grout lines
- Terrazzo and other commercial hard floors, evaluated case by case
We do not offer stone polishing, concrete grinding, epoxy installation, wood-floor refinishing, or specialized restoration.

How commercial floor-care quotes are prepared
We do not publish pricing, because the same square footage can mean very different work depending on the building. A quote is prepared after we understand the following.
- Square footage by area and flooring type
- Existing finish and its condition
- Number of finish coats required
- Furniture and fixture movement
- Access restrictions and equipment routes
- Operating hours and available windows
- Drying and curing time in your building
- Travel and mobilization
- The schedule you need
- Recurring service versus one-time work

Multi-location and portfolio inquiries are welcome. If you manage several buildings, send the full site list and we will work through square footage, surface types, and access for each property.

What is different about commercial floor care in Nevada
Nevada is not one operating environment, and a floor-care plan written for one end of the state is usually wrong at the other. Three things shape the work here.
Two climates, two entrance problems
In Clark County and the southern basins the constant is fine wind-blown desert sand. It is abrasive, it arrives at every entrance on footwear and on cart and trolley wheels, and it flattens gloss along the walking lines while the floor either side still looks new. The load is steady through the year, so intervals can be steady too, and very low humidity generally shortens drying between coats — which makes phased overnight work realistic in buildings that could not manage it in a humid climate.
From the Truckee Meadows north and east — Reno, Sparks, Carson City, the Carson Valley, Elko, Ely — roughly November through March brings something different. Traction sand and deicing residue come in on wet footwear. The sand abrades; the deicer leaves an alkaline film that dulls finish, holds moisture against the floor and needs neutralizing rather than ordinary cleaning, which tends to spread it. Unheated warehouse and shop space in those months can also sit below the temperature a coating needs to cure. Northern buildings generally want a shorter entrance-zone interval through the winter and a lighter one after, rather than one figure year-round.
A high share of property that never closes
Resort and gaming floors, twenty-four-hour retail, hospital circulation: Nevada has more of this than most states, and none of it hands over an empty floor. That work is phased — a section barriered and taken out of service, worked, dried and returned before the next begins, with routes maintained around it and sign-off agreed at each stage. Nothing closes, and the sequence matters more than the rate.
Distance between markets
Between the Las Vegas valley and the Truckee Meadows the state is large and thinly settled. For a property in Ely, Tonopah, Battle Mountain or Jackpot, mobilization is a real part of the cost rather than a rounding error, so work is planned as a block covering several properties in one visit or grouped along a corridor. For a portfolio spread across Nevada, sending the full site list at the outset is what lets that grouping be planned and priced.

Common questions about commercial floor care
Common questions about commercial floor care
Do you provide floor care for private homes?
No. Safety Shine Maintenance works on commercial properties, managed facilities, construction projects, and professionally managed common areas only. We do not quote or schedule floor care in private residences or individual apartments.
Which parts of Nevada do you cover?
We evaluate commercial floor-care projects across the state, organized into five regions covering all 17 Nevada county-equivalents, from the Las Vegas valley to the Interstate 80 corridor in the north. Availability at any specific address is confirmed by location, project size, required service, access, and schedule.
Do you publish pricing?
No, because a rate per square foot is not a quote. Cost is driven by area, flooring type, the existing finish and its condition, coats required, fixture movement, access, phasing, and schedule. We set out what a quote includes so it can be compared honestly against others.
Can floor work happen without closing the building?
Usually. Most commercial floor care is done after hours, overnight, or at weekends, and larger properties are commonly phased so only part of the floor is out of service at a time.
Do you take on multi-location or portfolio work?
Yes. Send the full site list and we will work through square footage, surface types, and access per property. A consistent standard can be applied across sites while each building keeps a schedule that suits its own hours.
What flooring do you work on?
Most commonly vinyl composition tile and compatible resilient flooring, along with sealed concrete and hard tile. Not every surface should be coated, and we confirm the material and the manufacturer's guidance before recommending a service.
