Commercial Floor Care in Northwest Las Vegas
Floor care for the retail centers, medical offices and professional property of the city's northwest districts.
The northwest is the newest part of the City of Las Vegas, and its commercial property is suburban, planned and mostly recent.
A newer suburban market
The city's northwest reaches take in the Centennial Hills and Skye Canyon areas and the commercial development along the Interstate 215 and US 95 corridors. The property here is retail centers, medical and dental office buildings, professional offices, schools, fitness and recreation property and community buildings.
Much of this is maintenance work rather than restoration, though that is a generalization about the district and not a finding about any particular building. Where a floor is sound, a planned interval can hold it in condition, which is usually the least costly position a building can be in. Recent construction makes that more likely but does not establish it.
Retail, clinical and professional
Retail center floors take concentrated entrance traffic and need the first stretch inside the door treated differently from the rest. Medical and dental buildings need their clinical areas handled with dust control and agreed product selection. Professional offices are the straightforward case, and depending on the flooring system and service requirements, maintaining them can be more economical than the more restorative work elsewhere in a portfolio.
Construction dust and open ground
Development is still active across parts of the northwest, and construction dust is coarser and more abrasive than the ordinary wind-blown kind. Buildings next to active sites take measurably more of it and justify shorter entrance-zone intervals while the work continues.
Beyond that it is standard valley conditions: fine dust, very low humidity, fast drying, and no winter deicing to plan for.
Straightforward windows
Retail centers work overnight, medical and dental offices phase room by room in the evening, and professional offices give clean evening and weekend access. Schools do heavy refinishing in the summer break.
This is one of the easier parts of the valley to schedule, which makes it a good candidate for a fixed-interval program rather than ad-hoc work.

Questions about this district
Is Centennial Hills in the City of Las Vegas?
Yes. The Centennial Hills and Skye Canyon areas are within the city boundary, in the northwest of the valley.
Is a newer floor worth putting on a program?
Usually more worth it than an old one. Keeping a sound floor sound generally costs considerably less than restoring one that has been left, and a floor kept on a planned interval from new may go significantly longer between full strip-and-refinish cycles, depending on the flooring system, coating, traffic, contamination and maintenance history.
How long does construction dust remain an issue?
For as long as the adjacent work continues, and for a while after. It is worth treating as a temporary condition with a shorter entrance-zone interval rather than as a permanent change to the program.
