Operating conditions
Fine Mojave dust is the constant here. It blows in, it arrives on footwear and on cart and trolley wheels, and because it is abrasive it takes the gloss off traffic lanes long before the rest of the floor shows anything. Entrance matting that is actually long enough to take several footfalls removes most of it before it reaches finished floor.
Air is dry for most of the year, which is genuinely helpful: coats tend to flash off quickly, and an overnight refinish is often realistic in buildings that could not manage one in a humid climate. The late-summer monsoon weeks are the exception and are worth planning around rather than ignoring.

Regular scrubbing along principal corridors lifts the abrasive dust out of the finish before it grinds in, which is what keeps a floor eligible for recoating rather than stripping.

Civic and government buildings downtown release floors in the evening or at weekends, usually a department at a time. The medical district phases by area with clinical restrictions agreed in advance. Downtown hospitality is worked in sections around occupancy because it does not close.
Northwest retail works overnight. Schools do their heavy refinishing in the summer break.

No. The resort corridor along Las Vegas Boulevard south of Sahara Avenue is in unincorporated Clark County, principally within the Paradise and Winchester Census-designated places. Downtown Las Vegas and the Fremont Street area are inside the city.
Can downtown hospitality floors be done without closing?
Yes, in phases. A section is barriered off, taken out of service, worked, dried and handed back before the next section starts. The sequence is agreed with the property in advance.
How often should a Las Vegas office building be refinished?
It depends far more on the entrance and corridor traffic than on the building's age. A zoned program that scrubs the busy routes more often and refinishes the whole floor less often normally costs less over a year than a single uniform interval.
