Commercial Floor Care at the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center

Floor care for the warehouse, logistics and manufacturing buildings of Storey County's industrial park.

The Tahoe Reno Industrial Center is one of the largest industrial parks in the country, and getting its jurisdiction right is the first practical step in working there.

Storey County, not Sparks

The Tahoe Reno Industrial Center is a privately developed industrial park of over a hundred thousand acres in Storey County, south of Interstate 80 and east of Sparks, served by USA Parkway. It occupies more than half the land area of the county.

Buildings there commonly carry Sparks or McCarran mailing addresses, which misleads people constantly. The park is not in the City of Sparks and not in Washoe County; permitting, access and contractor arrangements run through Storey County.

Very large plates

The park holds warehouse, logistics, fulfillment and manufacturing buildings, many of them very large. Floors are largely concrete - sealed, polished, coated or bare depending on the building - taking forklift and pallet-jack traffic, dock-door soil and tire marking.

Each building also has coated floors in its office, welfare, training and quality-control areas. Those are where appearance expectations sit, and they need a separate refinishing cycle from the slab.

Exposure, wind and winter

The park sits in open high desert and the wind moves a great deal of material across it. Dock doors and vehicle entrances take the brunt, and the grit arriving there is coarse.

Storey County winters are cold with snow, and traction material comes off the yards straight onto the slab. Unheated space limits coating work in the cold months; scrubbing continues normally.

Around continuous operations

Most buildings here run continuous or near-continuous operations. Planned shutdowns and weekends give the cleanest windows, and aisle-by-aisle phasing works where traffic can be rerouted.

On the largest plates, zoning the slab and rotating through the zones across the year is the only practical approach.

Questions about this district

Is the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center in Sparks?

No. It is in Storey County, south of Interstate 80 and east of Sparks, along USA Parkway. Buildings there often have Sparks or McCarran mailing addresses, but the jurisdiction is Storey County and that is what governs permitting and access.

Do you have clients in the park?

This page describes capability rather than a client list. Safety Shine does not publish client names and nothing here should be read as a claim to have worked for any particular company.

How large a floor can be handled?

Very large plates are handled in zones on a rotating interval rather than as single jobs. That is how a floor of several hundred thousand square feet is kept without stopping the operation.

Where this sits

The Tahoe Reno Industrial Center is within Virginia City, in Storey County.
