Commercial Floor Care in Storey County, Nevada

Floor care for one of the largest industrial parks in the country and for Virginia City's hospitality and retail property.

Storey County is small in population and very large in industrial floor area: more than half its land is taken up by the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center east of Sparks.

Commercial property in Storey County

The Tahoe Reno Industrial Center, south of Interstate 80 along USA Parkway, is a privately developed industrial park covering over a hundred thousand acres and holding a large number of warehouse, logistics, fulfillment and manufacturing buildings. The floor area there is largely concrete, which may be sealed, polished, coated or bare, with coated floors more likely in the office, welfare and quality-control areas attached to each building.

Virginia City, the county seat, is a completely different market: historic commercial buildings, hospitality, restaurants, retail and museums serving a visitor economy, on a compact main street.

Property types served

Large-format industrial buildings on one side of the county and small hospitality and retail property on the other.

Operating conditions

Industrial floors in the county take forklift and pallet-jack traffic, dock-door soil and tire marking rather than pedestrian wear, and the office and welfare areas attached to them take a concentrated pedestrian load at shift changes. Those are two different problems inside one building and they are usually best handled on separate intervals.

Storey County sits high enough to get cold winters with snow and the traction materials that follow. Dock doors and vehicle entrances bring that straight onto the slab, so the transition zones between yard and interior take the worst of it.

Access and scheduling

Industrial buildings here generally run continuous or near-continuous operations, so work goes into planned shutdowns, weekends or a phased aisle-by-aisle sequence agreed with the facility.

Virginia City's hospitality and retail property works around the visitor season, with the quieter midweek and winter periods giving the practical windows.

Storey County floor-care questions

Is the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center in Sparks?

No, though buildings there often carry Sparks or McCarran mailing addresses. The park itself lies in Storey County, south of Interstate 80 and east of Sparks, along USA Parkway. Getting the jurisdiction right matters for permitting and access arrangements.

Should the warehouse floor and the office area be on the same schedule?

Rarely. The slab takes vehicle traffic and the offices take concentrated footfall at shift changes; they wear at different rates and respond to different treatments. Separate intervals almost always cost less over a year.

Do you work on polished or sealed concrete?

Yes. Machine scrubbing and maintenance programs for sealed concrete are core work. Strip and wax is a coated-floor process and is not applied to polished concrete.

Region and neighboring counties
