North Las Vegas has become Southern Nevada's industrial city, and a large part of its commercial property is distribution and manufacturing space. The city carries a very large warehouse, logistics and manufacturing sector, concentrated along the Interstate 15 and US 93 corridors and in the Apex Industrial Park at the north end of the city. In a distribution building the floor problem is usually two problems. The slab takes forklift and pallet-jack traffic, dock-door soil and tire marking. The office, welfare and quality-control areas attached to it take concentrated pedestrian traffic at shift change. Those wear at different rates and are cheaper to maintain on separate intervals.

Operating conditions
Dock doors and vehicle entrances are where the soil arrives in industrial property, and it arrives as coarse grit rather than as fine dust. The transition zone between yard and interior takes the worst abrasion in the building by a wide margin.
The north end of the valley is dusty and windy, with construction across the Apex corridor adding to it. Low humidity tends to keep drying times short, which makes phased work between shifts more workable than it would be elsewhere.

Distribution and manufacturing property works to shift patterns rather than opening hours. That usually makes a planned weekend or a scheduled shutdown more practical than a nightly window, though aisle-by-aisle phasing works where the racking layout allows traffic to be rerouted.

Do you strip and wax warehouse slabs?
Generally no. Large sealed or polished concrete slabs are maintained by scrubbing, not by coating. Strip and wax applies to the coated floors in the office, welfare and quality-control areas attached to the warehouse.
Can the floor be worked while the building keeps running?
Often, aisle by aisle or bay by bay, where traffic can be rerouted. Where the layout does not allow that, a planned weekend or shutdown gives a better result and usually costs less in disruption.
